From Chatham Patch:
Players from the Jersey Penguins Pee Wee Youth Hockey team recently visited the ABA4U NJ center for autism and related disorders to teach the kids how to play hockey! Using hockey sticks donated from the Rock Ice Pro Shop in Dunellen, the boys ran shooting and passing drills, practiced goaltending, and worked on physical fitness. Players attending from the Penguins (left to right) were: Zach Pendergrast, Carson Wahlers, Tanner Acone, Drew Galea, Kyle Wahlers, Cole Wahlers, and Jack Tamburro. Penguin coaches Greg Rinder and Tommy Tracy ran the program.
ABA4U NJ utilizes the teaching principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, which have been demonstrated as best practice in the research literature for individuals with autism and related disorders.
